Do you ever miss that sense of exploration and curiosity you had as a kid? If the answer is ‘yes,’ we have the event for you. St. Vrain Valley Schools is hosting its first ever VEX Robotics Showcase from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 9. Open to the public, the event an evening of the same fun, hands-on robotics play, learning and experimentation that St. Vrain students relish day-in and day-out, in both class and extracurricular settings.
Kids are really kicking it into high gear! This week we had 9 kids hit 50 miles, 4 kids hit 75 miles and another 2 hit 25. We have about 24 remaining 100 mile club days here at school this year. Kids that are around 50 miles need to average about 8-10 laps each time they attend in order to make it to 100 and earn the gold medal.
Another shout out to Brown's Shoe Fit on Main Street Longmont for donating the shoelaces that kids earn as part of their 50 mile incentive package. The kids really love picking out new laces from the great selection.
The internet is a tool that is improving lives, making it easier to communicate, and gather information. Our society is immersed with technology. We want to be sure we are helping our kids stay safe and start healthy/safe internet habits to carry with them through adolescents and adulthood. Please join us on Thursday, February 23 at 5:30pm in the LEE Library for more information on Internet Safety.
Thank you for your continued partnership in making St. Vrain Valley Schools such an exceptional community for our students to thrive.
This message is a follow-up to this morning’s transportation delays due to the power outages and grass fires that occurred west of Longmont. St. Vrain bus routes will operate on a normal schedule this afternoon.
St. Vrain would like to commend our students and staff for following all safety protocols. We would also like to thank the local emergency responders for their quick response.
Thank you for your continued partnership as we work together to advance the well-being and academic success of our students. We are very fortunate to have such committed families, outstanding students and dedicated teachers and staff that make our community a highly engaging and supportive environment for our children to thrive.
