Some important dates: our final running day at Longmont Estates this year is Thursday May 4th. Our Kinder, 1st and 2nd grade award/certificate ceremony will be May 11th at 8:30 am in the gym. Our 3rd,4th and 5th grade award/certificate ceremony will be May 12th at 8:30 am in the gym.
For the second summer in a row, the Young Americans Center for Financial Education, a Denver-based pioneering nonprofit, will lead its award-winning, week-long Young Ameritowne on the Road Summer Camp, for students entering third through sixth grade, at Sunset Middle School. The traveling camp is a recent innovation, bringing the camp, which covers financial literacy, local government and workplace readiness, from the Denver center to offsite locations.
This weekend, the St. Vrain District Technology team will be continuing to upgrade, enhance and maintain our technology infrastructure and some systems may be temporarily unavailable for student, parent or staff access. The Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley would like to remind the St. Vrain community that Encore Award Nomination forms are due Wednesday, March 15th. The Encore Awards program provides an opportunity for students, parents, teachers, staff, volunteers --- anyone in the St. Vrain Valley community --- to recognize and honor individual teachers at the Pre-K – 12 levels who exemplify excellence in teaching. A review committee convenes and selects three teachers from every St.
We have had 3 kids attain the 100 mile mark and there are plenty more knocking on the door of that milestone! There are multiple kids hitting the 50 and 75 mile milestones each week as well. Students that have 50 or more miles at this point still have an opportunity to make it to 100. Those closer to 50 miles will need to go to a few of the outside events in order to make it.
Do you ever miss that sense of exploration and curiosity you had as a kid? If the answer is ‘yes,’ we have the event for you. St. Vrain Valley Schools is hosting its first ever VEX Robotics Showcase from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 9. Open to the public, the event an evening of the same fun, hands-on robotics play, learning and experimentation that St. Vrain students relish day-in and day-out, in both class and extracurricular settings.
