Superintendent’s Update
Dear St. Vrain Valley Community,
Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we celebrate another remarkable period of achievement and advancement across St. Vrain Valley Schools. Our commitment to excellence continues to yield unprecedented results, with our on-time graduation rate reaching a historic 94.3% for all students and 90% for Hispanic students – the highest of any district in the Denver Metro Area while maintaining the most rigorous graduation requirements.
The vibrancy of our educational community has been on full display these past several weeks. Our recent school open houses saw tremendous participation from families across the region, demonstrating the strong draw of our high-quality programs and comprehensive educational options. As we look to the future, I am pleased to announce that our preschool program will expand to five days per week beginning next year, with enrollment opening this week, furthering our commitment to providing strong early childhood education foundations for our youngest learners.
Our students continue to achieve at the highest levels across academics, athletics, and the arts. Our enrollment in concurrent college-level courses and Pathways through Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) has increased again this year. Additionally, our i-Ready reading scores have increased and we are on track to have a year-and-half of growth in a one-year time frame. The district is proud to celebrate numerous Boettcher scholarship finalists, which is a full four-year scholarship to any university in Colorado, as well as many National Merit Scholarship semifinalists across our high schools.
Notably, Niwot High School’s Boys Cross Country team captured the Nike Cross Country Nationals Championship, adding to an impressive fall sports season that saw numerous state championships and runner-up finishes. As we transition into winter sports, our student-athletes continue to demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship and competitive excellence. Our visual and performing arts programs have showcased incredible talent through numerous concerts, performances, and exhibitions across the district over the past several weeks. Moreover, St. Vrain students took second in the World Artificial Intelligence Competition for Youth (WAICY), and robotics season is in full swing for our over 240 teams across the district.
I also want to express my deepest gratitude to our community for the passage of Bond Issue 5C. Your support ensures that we can continue to provide outstanding educational facilities that match the high quality of our academic programs. We look forward to breaking ground on new schools in the coming months, addressing our continued growth while maintaining our commitment to excellence, safety, and strong fiscal management.
As we approach Winter Break and prepare for the Spring semester, I am humbled by the dedication of our teachers, staff, students, and community members who continue to advance St. Vrain Valley Schools as a center of excellence in public education. The numerous achievements and celebrations across our system are a direct result of your unwavering commitment to student success.
