Every year, the Longmont Estates PTO holds a Jog-A-Thon. It is a fun, energized event where students seek donations and complete laps to raise money for our school. Longmont Estates depends on money raised from the Jog-A-Thon for PARAs (teacher aides), classroom expenses, teacher meals and much more. In a typical year, the Jog-A-Thon is the only direct-ask fundraiser we hold. This year, we will be holding several fundraisers. 

 

Due to Covid-19, the PTO has made the decision to host the Annual Jog-A-Thon as a Virtual 5K Fun Run. Participants will register for the Virtual 5K Fun Run. The event will open on Friday, October 23rd and close on Monday, November 2nd. 

 

Choose any day during this window to complete your 5K at any location of your choosing. You could also split up your 5K and walk/run it in shorter distances if you want to. Don’t forget, your completed 5K counts toward your 100 Mile Club miles! Please continue to be mindful of social distancing as you participate in this virtual event. 

 

While there is no required fee to participate, we ask our community to generously give what they can. We are suggesting the following as base fees:

 

$5/Participants under age 12

$10/Participants over age 12

 

You may also purchase the 2020 Fun Run Shirt for $10. Orders for shirts will end on Monday, October 26th. Registrations after that will not be able to add a shirt.

 

We have some fun prizes lined up for the students of Longmont Estates Elementary: 

 

• The student in each class who brings in the biggest donation will earn a coveted Homework/Assignment Pass! 

• The grade level that generates the highest amount of donations will get an extra recess to play outside! 

• Finally, the student who brings in the highest donation amount school-wide will receive a FREE ENRICHMENT CLASS with Ms. Bettina!! This is sure to be a fun time for a lucky kiddo!

 

The fees listed above are suggestions, we will happily and gratefully accept greater fees as donations. If you still want to support Longmont Estates but do not want to participate in the 5K or purchase a shirt, we have included an option for donation only if that is your preference. In addition, donations will be accepted from corporate sponsors as well as company matching donations. If you are participating in 100 MC this year, please remember to report your 5K to Mr. Newell for distance credit.
