The start of a new academic year is one of my favorite times to visit our schools and talk with our students, families, teachers and staff. Our hallways are filled with a palpable optimism and drive to continue our momentum toward the highest levels of academic growth and success.

My name is Christy Dreiman Johnson and I am so excited to become a part of the Longmont Estates Elementary staff and community! I look forward to the up and coming school year; getting to know the students, families and fellow staff members as I work hard to play my part in provide a warm and productive environment for students to learn.

It’s not the eclipse that is dangerous to observe, it’s the sun! The sun’s visible (and invisible) rays can cause serious damage to the sensitive tissues of the eyes, often without being immediately aware of it. Normally, our common sense protects us from looking directly at the sun for more than a second.

2017-2018 School Supply List

Planned Systems Outage Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

Time Frame: Friday, July 28, 12:00 noon to Monday, July 31 6:00 am

Description: Generally all online systems will be unavailable as DTS and O&M perform major maintenance on the district’s technology infrastructure.

Affected Systems: The following is a partial list of the systems that will be unavailable during this time.

St. Vrain Valley Schools Launches New Initiative to Close the Word Gap

As St. Vrain Valley Schools continues to advance our programs that support our youngest learners, we are proud to announce a new partnership with the LENA Research Foundation and the OUR Center in Longmont that will prepare infants and toddlers (0-3 years) for school by encouraging parents to talk and engage more with their children.

Summer in St. Vrain

As the countdown to summer winds down, students and teachers across the district are gearing up for camp season and it’s not too late to sign up. 
Performing arts, financial literacy and STEM camps are among the district’s summer programs that still have openings.

2017 Super Summer Reading Challenge

St. Vrain Valley elementary schools are invited to participate in the District's Super Summer Reading Challenge.

Participating schools will utilize the myOn reader program to record the number of minutes read by their students over summer break.

Prizes will be awarded to the schools with the highest average minutes read per student (total mins/enrollment).

1ST PRIZE/ $2,500

Two schools, one with summer programming and one without summer programming, will receive award.

2ND PRIZE/ $1,200

3RD PRIZE/ $1,000
